Overview

Madera Unified utilizes two assessments from NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association): MAP Reading Fluency and MAP Growth. The Reading Fluency test helps teachers measure early literacy skills in kindergarten through second grade and the MAP Growth tests measure math and reading comprehension skills in first through eleventh grades. The results from these assessments inform classroom instruction in many ways, ranging from small group intervention to extending learning for students who may be above grade-level standards.
