Overview

Madera Unified utilizes two assessments from NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association): MAP Reading Fluency and MAP Growth. The Reading Fluency test helps teachers measure early literacy skills in kindergarten through second grade and the MAP Growth tests measure math and reading comprehension skills in first through eleveth grades. The results from these assessments inform classroom instruction in many ways, ranging from small group intervention to extending learning for students who may be above grade-level standards.

MAP Reading Fluency measures early literacy skills in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

The MAP Growth assessment is used to measure student reading comprehension in grades 3 through 12 and math skills in grades 1 through 11.
