In addition to summative state testing, CAASPP provides Interim and Focused Interim assessments for California educators. These assessments, also known as IABs and FIABs, are rigorous and standards-aligned, providing educators with opportunities to expose students to the level of performance they will need to achieve on the summative SBAC at the end of the year. Most interim assessments are scored automatically and allow teachers and administrators to immediately view results data so they can make quick, targeted adjustments to their instruction.
